Infertility can be described as the state of not being capable of conception even after a year or more of regular sexual intercourse that is not protected. Male infertility is usually caused by a low sperm count or other problems with sperm. Generally, men who are incapable of conception make up about 30-50% of all infertility cases. Some causes of infertility are very much avoidable.

Here are some of them:

  1. Certain diseases - One of the symptoms of mumps is inflammation of the testes. If this inflammation should cause damage to the cells directly in charge of making sperm, the result would be infertility. To prevent this kind of infertility, it would be appropriate to get a vaccination against the disease or fast treatment should it be detected. Celiac disease is also said to cause infertility in men. This manifestation of gluten sensitivity can cause problems to your sperm production and this can be recouped by avoiding a gluten diet.
  2. Drug use - This is yet another known cause of infertility which can be nonetheless avoided. Use of marijuana, especially, has been mentioned as a cause of infertility. This drug use can cause a fall in the sperm count and also greatly reduce the quality of sperm in an individual.
  3. Stressful life - Stress causes immense health challenges and infertility may be one of them. This is because it works on the hormones that are responsible for sperm production.
