Another Reason To Quit Smoking

Another Reason To Quit Smoking

It’s no secret that smoking isn’t good for you, but new research has found a link between smoking and more aggressive prostate cancer. Now I’m not saying that smoking will cause prostate cancer, but there is evidence supporting that men who smoke at the time are diagnosed with prostate cancer have a much greater risk of dying from the disease, or have a harder time keeping it gone once it has been treated.

Compared to men who have never smoked, those who smoked a significant amount throughout their life are at a much higher risk of developing prostate cancer, and/or having a more aggressive case. Even men who haven’t been smokers for years are still at a higher risk than those who haven’t smoked. This being said, after having not smoked for 10 years or more, there are no real differences in the likelihood or severity of prostate cancer compared to men who have never smoked.
